About Center for Scaling

We built the resource we wished existed when we were ready to scale.

Built by practitioners. For practitioners.

Center for Scaling exists because there is a gap between a practitioner's expertise and her ability to share it at scale. Coaches, therapists, and counselors spend years developing real skills that could help far more people than they currently reach — but they lack the roadmap, the community, and the right tools to make that leap without losing what makes them effective. CFS bridges that gap. It is not a software company. It is not a coaching program. It is the trusted guide that helps practitioners grow into the next version of their practice.

Our mission

"To help coaches, therapists, and counselors scale their impact, income, and reach — without losing the authenticity that makes their work transformational."

Scale your impact — reach more people who need your work
Scale your income — break through the time-for-money ceiling
Scale your reach — carry your expertise to a wider audience
Why we build around Sarah, not "everyone"

Software built for a specific practitioner and business model outperforms software built for everyone.

Generic, "everyone" software

Built for no one in particular

  • Features chosen to appeal broadly — few map to how a coach or therapist actually runs sessions and cohorts
  • Practitioners re-explain their business model to support, over and over
  • Lower adoption, higher churn — the tool feels repurposed, not built for the job
vs.
Built around a named persona

Built for Sarah, specifically

  • Every feature maps to a real workflow — cohorts, group programs, memberships, client caseloads
  • Built from direct feedback of coaches, therapists, and counselors already running programs
  • Higher adoption and trust — it feels built for the job, because it was

This mirrors what product research consistently shows: teams that design around a clearly defined persona and business model — rather than a generic "everyone" user — tend to see stronger adoption, retention, and trust than teams that skip that step. It is the same principle behind how Next Level itself was built: shaped by direct feedback from working coaches, therapists, and counselors, not repositioned generic course software. CFS exists because that same principle applies to community and education, not just software.

The direct answers

The questions people ask most often about CFS — answered honestly.

No preamble. If you have fifteen minutes, read the full page. If you have two, these four answers cover the most important ground.

Why does Center for Scaling exist?

Next Level's software is already in active use — coaches, therapists, and counselors are running real programs on it. CFS exists because that community wanted more than the tool: a roadmap, a peer community, and a place to learn from people a few steps ahead, without losing the depth that makes their work matter. CFS is that place, open to any practitioner ready to grow, whether or not they use Next Level.

Is Center for Scaling just a sales funnel for Next Level?

No. CFS is the community and education layer of the Next Level ecosystem — it exists because practitioners already using Next Level wanted a place to learn from each other, not because it needed a way to sell more software. CFS earns trust through education and community, and the assessment, resource library, and community all provide genuine value whether or not you ever use Next Level. The full commercial relationship is explained below.

What is the relationship between Center for Scaling and Next Level?

CFS is the community and education layer, born from Next Level's own user base. Next Level is the software platform CFS recommends when a practitioner is ready to act. They share a parent company, Virgo Development, and CFS is transparent that it earns a referral fee on the recommendation — but the content, the assessment, and the community are built to be genuinely useful on their own, not just as a path to a sale.

Who is Center for Scaling built for?

Credentialed coaches, therapists, and counselors who are experienced, fully booked, and ready to grow beyond one-on-one sessions — but have not found an honest, clear path to do it without losing what makes their work effective. If you have five to fifteen years of experience and feel like you have hit a ceiling, CFS was built for you.

Why Center for Scaling exists

The resource we wished someone had handed us.

The coaching and therapy space is full of advice — but almost none of it is honest about difficulty. Most scaling content either sells you a platform without helping you decide what to build, or sells you a high-ticket coaching program before you know whether scaling is the right move. The information exists. The peer community exists. The right tools exist. They just were not in one place, and they were not being offered in the right order.

Center for Scaling was built to provide what was missing: a trusted starting point that earns your confidence through education and community before it ever asks for anything. The Scaling Assessment exists because practitioners need a clear, personalised answer before they invest time or money in a direction that may not fit their practice. The resource library exists because the best advice on scaling a coaching or therapy practice was scattered across expensive programs, podcast interviews, and private Facebook groups — nowhere a practitioner could find it at no cost.

The community exists because the most valuable thing about scaling is not the tools or the content — it is the peer practitioners who have been through it and are willing to share what actually happened. CFS earns trust first. Everything else follows from that.

Honest over optimistic
Scaling is hard. We do not pretend otherwise.
Peer-to-peer, not guru-to-student
CFS is alongside you — not above you.
Credentialed without being clinical
Intelligent without being academic or jargon-heavy.
Transparent about everything
Including our commercial relationships. Always.
"You are not out of clients. You are out of hours. The question is not whether you should scale — it is which model fits your practice, and how to carry your expertise further without losing what makes your work matter."

How CFS fits together

CFS grows with you, in three tiers.

Practitioners move through CFS at their own pace — from Aware, to Exploring, to Connecting, to Building, to Scaling, and eventually to Leading, where the most experienced practitioners loop back in as community mentors. The three tiers below meet you wherever you are on that journey.

Tier 1 — No-cost

Blog & newsletter

Education you can use immediately — no email or commitment required. The right starting point if you are still exploring whether scaling is the right move.

Tier 2 — Community

Forum & classes

Peer connection and structured classes, with some paid options. The right fit once you are ready to connect with practitioners a few steps ahead of you.

Tier 3 — Next Level

Paid software & training

Next Level's platform, training, and a dedicated forum — for practitioners ready to run their program under their own branded app.

Who is behind Center for Scaling

Built by people who have been through the transition.

Center for Scaling was built by practitioners and practitioners-adjacent advisors who experienced the scaling gap directly — and decided to close it.

The CFS Founders

Community & Education

CFS was founded by practitioners who built their own group programs and memberships, experienced the gaps in available guidance, and decided to build the resource they wished had existed. The founding team brings backgrounds in coaching, therapy-adjacent practice, and platform design.

Advisory Practitioners

Content & Community

The CFS content library and community guidelines are shaped by an advisory group of credentialed coaches, therapists, and counselors who are actively scaling — practitioners in the CFS community who share what is actually working, in real terms, without the highlight reel.

Virgo Development

Builds & Maintains Next Level

Virgo Development (VirgoDev.com) is the software company that builds and maintains Next Level. Coaches, therapists, and counselors are already running real programs on it today. Building Next Level — and the direct feedback Virgo Development gathered from those practitioners along the way — is the foundation the ideas behind Center for Scaling grew out of.

Built by practitioners. Trusted by practitioners. Every piece of content, every tool recommendation, and every community guideline passes one test: would a credentialed practitioner find this genuinely useful — or would they feel sold to? If it is the latter, we rewrite it.

How the two fit together

Center for Scaling and Next Level, explained honestly.

This is the question we would ask too. Here is the complete, straightforward answer.

Center for Scaling

The community and the education

CFS provides the roadmap, the peer community, the scaling assessment, and the resource library. It is the layer where practitioners decide how to scale — and where practitioners already scaling with Next Level compare notes on what is actually working. CFS earns trust through education and community, and does not charge for the core content or community access.

Next Level

The platform and the infrastructure

Next Level is the all-in-one platform CFS recommends for practitioners who are ready to run their group program or membership under their own branded app. It has its own pricing, team, and setup process, and shares a parent company with CFS — Virgo Development. CFS recommends it because it is genuinely the best fit for most practitioners in the CFS community who are ready to build.

Full transparency — how this is structured

Is Next Level just "the CFS product," or something else?

Next Level is the software platform, built and run by its own team. CFS is the community and education brand — content, peer connection, and the Scaling Assessment. They share a parent company, Virgo Development, and CFS earns a referral fee when a practitioner it refers signs up for Next Level. We are explicit about that because you deserve to know how the recommendation is structured.

Here is what that does and does not change. It does not change the content of the CFS resource library, which is written to be genuinely useful regardless of which platform a practitioner ultimately chooses. It does not change the Scaling Assessment, which is designed to return the right scaling model for your practice — not to push you toward Next Level. It does not change the community, where practitioners share their experiences with all tools, not just Next Level.

We manage the incentive that comes with any referral relationship by being honest about where Next Level is not the right fit — including on the Next Level platform page itself, which names the situations where Kajabi is a better choice. The CFS brand is built on trust, and that is worth more to us than any single referral.

Next Level — built by Virgo Development

Next Level exists because Virgo Development (VirgoDev.com) built it directly around the coaches, therapists, and counselors already using it — not around a generic "everyone" user. Virgo Development took real feedback from practitioners running actual group programs, memberships, and client caseloads, and applied it to Next Level's roadmap. That process — building Next Level around a specific practitioner and business model — is the foundation the ideas behind Center for Scaling grew out of.

One of Next Level's founding organizations is Get Your Marriage On — a coaching, courses, and community practice for married couples. It is a real, working example of the kind of practitioner-led business Next Level was shaped to support: coaching plus courses plus community, running under one branded platform instead of six disconnected tools.

Who Center for Scaling is built for

A specific practitioner at a specific stage — not everyone.

CFS is not built for every coach or therapist. It is built for a specific practitioner at a specific stage of her practice — credentialed, experienced, fully booked, and ready to grow in a way that does not compromise the depth that makes her work matter.

We call her Sarah — not because every CFS practitioner is named Sarah, but because naming the persona makes the design intent concrete. Every piece of content, every tool recommendation, and every community guideline is written with Sarah in mind.

If Sarah does not sound like you — if you are just starting out, not yet credentialed, or looking to build a course-based business rather than a coaching or therapy practice — CFS may not be the right fit yet. That is honest, and we would rather tell you that than waste your time.

The CFS Practitioner

Sarah — the growth-ready guide

Credentialed, experienced, fully booked, and ready for more

5 to 15 years of active practice — credentialed, experienced, and deeply skilled

Fully booked — 10 to 20 clients per week, with a waitlist or consistent referrals

Income ceiling — revenue has plateaued despite a full calendar

Tool sprawl — managing 6 to 10 separate tools manually

Ready to scale — knows that growing beyond 1:1 is the right next step, but lacks a clear roadmap

Authenticity anxiety — worries that scaling means compromising depth or becoming "just another online coach"

CFS may not be the right fit yet if you are in your first two years of practice, not yet credentialed, or primarily interested in building a course business rather than a coaching or therapy practice. The assessment will tell you clearly.

What Center for Scaling stands for

The values that shape everything we publish, recommend, and build.

The brand mantra

"Your expertise, carried further."

This is the five-word filter every piece of content, every product decision, and every marketing message passes through. Scaling your practice does not mean going shallow, selling out, or becoming a different kind of practitioner. It means your expertise reaches more people who need it — without requiring more of your time. The depth stays intact. The reach grows.

The brand promise

We help you grow without selling out.

Every CFS tool recommendation, every resource, and every community interaction is governed by this promise. If a piece of content could not honestly be described as helping a practitioner grow without selling out, it does not get published.

"Depth first. Scale follows."

Product and UX decisions

"Built by practitioners. Trusted by practitioners."

Community and partnership messaging

"Honest over optimistic."

Editorial compass for every piece of content

"Earn trust. Then earn the business."

The CFS-to-Next Level referral model

How CFS shows up for practitioners

The two archetypes that define the CFS voice and relationship.

Understanding these archetypes explains why CFS communicates the way it does — and why it earns trust before it earns business.

Primary archetype

The Sage

CFS is the trusted advisor. It provides knowledge, frameworks, and honest guidance. It is respected because it is right — not because it is loud. The Sage does not sell from stage. It earns authority through demonstrated expertise and the willingness to say things that are difficult to hear when they need to be said.

In practice: "Most group programs fail because of infrastructure, not content." — CFS says this because it is true, not because it sells anything.

Secondary archetype

The Guide

CFS does not just advise — it walks alongside. It provides the roadmap and the community. It reduces the risk of the journey by making the practitioner feel less alone in a transition that feels isolating when you try to navigate it without peers who have been through it.

In practice: "You should not have to carry this alone." — CFS genuinely means this. The community exists because the peer relationship is what makes the Sage's advice actionable.

About CFS — direct answers

More questions about Center for Scaling.

These are the questions people ask after reading this page.

The CFS community has a no-cost tier that includes access to the Scaling Assessment, the resource library, and the practitioner community forum. A paid tier with advanced content, live sessions, and direct access to CFS advisors is available for practitioners who want more structured support. We are transparent about what is behind each tier — we do not hide resources behind a sales call or a credit card.
CFS publishes honest comparison content that includes multiple platforms — including Kajabi, Teachable, Simply.Coach, and others — and explicitly identifies the situations where each is a better or worse fit than Next Level. The goal of the comparison content is to help practitioners make the right decision for their situation, not to funnel every practitioner toward Next Level regardless of fit. The Next Level page on this site includes a table that honestly identifies where Kajabi is the stronger choice.
Therapists and counselors are a core part of the CFS community — not an afterthought. The Scaling Assessment accounts for the different constraints that licensed clinicians face. The resource library includes content specific to scaling a therapy practice ethically, including the distinction between group coaching and group therapy, and what educational programs a licensed therapist can run without conflating the two. If you are a therapist who wants to reach more people than your 1:1 caseload allows, CFS was built with you specifically in mind.
Most coaching business programs are high-ticket (often $3,000 to $10,000 or more) and sell you advice before you have decided whether scaling is the right move. CFS comes before that decision. The core content and community are no-cost, so practitioners can determine whether scaling makes sense for their practice before spending anything. CFS is the on-ramp — not the program. If a practitioner eventually needs a high-touch coaching relationship to execute their scaling plan, CFS will point them toward the right resource for that, including other programs that specialize in it.
CFS content is produced by the founding team and shaped by the advisory practitioner group — coaches, therapists, and counselors who are actively scaling their own practices and willing to share what is actually working, with real numbers, without the highlight reel. Content is reviewed against the brand promise ("we help you grow without selling out") before publication. If a piece of content reads like a sales pitch or oversells the ease of scaling, it gets rewritten.
